Extruded Cores

Cores are available in any diameter from 1/2" ID through 6" ID. Our material of choice for precision film cores is High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS), but our expertise includes HDPE, PP, Polycarbonate, ABS, and a range of engineering grade resins. All extrusion cores are available with a tape start. We apply a 3M 9920XL double face tape with release liner, the tape is only 1 mil thick. Whatever your application we can help.

The wall thickness of a core is determined by the required crush strength of an application and the material the core is being produced from. Our capabilities run from the thinnest wall on our smaller cores to .375" wall on our 3" through 6" cores. When switching from a paperboard core to plastic, please remember that plastic is stronger and does not require as heavy a wall. Please consult with our sales department for your application.

Extruded cores can be manufactured with a key(s), keyway(s), fins, grooves, or it can be notched as a secondary operation. We also make dual extruded cores with a hard inner core and a softer outside coating.

Injection molded cores give you the ultimate in a quality precision short length core and the best price even in large quantities. Any size or shape is available and injection molding allows us to produce very tight tolerances, the only limiting factor is the length. We have a unique program for the smaller user, in that the customer pays only for the insert or inserts using our stock mold base therefore eliminating most of the cost of injection molded cores.

In our growing family of roll suspension sleeves and end caps, we can protect your products during its most dangerous time, shipping. Our 6" sleeves molded with RPP resin will support weights up to 1,800 pounds and our polycarbonate sleeve up to 2,500 pounds. The end caps are made with the same RPP resin or HDPE and provide superior protection. Please ask for samples for testing in your plant.

Our H-Channel is extruded from PVC, in widths of 1/2" and 1". Stock lengths are 24" and 32", but they can be cut to any desired length.
